Please note that I have simplified these steps for easy understanding. The process for obtaining Governor’s consent is stated below:

  1. Submission of application for consent accompanied by relevant documents. 
  2. Application will be forwarded to the surveyor general’s office for government’s due diligence. 
  3. Documents are forwarded to lands bureau for assessment. 
  4. Payment is made by client and receipt is forwarded to lands bureau. 
  5. Consent is given by the authorized commissioner representing the Governor by executing the consent part of the deed of assignment. 
  6. Stamping is done by tax office after payment of the necessary stamp duties. 
  7. Deed is registered at the lands registry. 
  8. Deed is now registered and available for pick up at lands. 

It is important to note that the procedure for obtaining a C of O is similar save that compilation for publication will be done, then news paper publication is done, then recommendation for execution of C of O by Permanent Secretary lands, SSA Lands, and Land Use Allocation Committee has to be obtained.
